SIN IS BEING CELEBRATED IN 2023: HOW CAN CHRISTIANS COPE Brandy N. Morrison, February 10, 2023November 18, 2023 It’s no secret that sin is being celebrated in our society. From films and television to music and the arts, immoral behavior is often portrayed as normal and even desirable. Christians can feel overwhelmed and outnumbered in today’s culture. But we are not alone. God is with us, and He has given us His Word to guide us. As we navigate through a culture that is increasingly celebrating sin, it is important to keep in mind that God is still in control. Despite the chaos and confusion that may surround us, we can take comfort in the fact that He is seated on His throne, watching over us and guiding us through the storms of life. It is also crucial to remember that our ultimate goal as Christians is not to be popular or accepted by the world. Rather, our aim is to glorify God and make His name known to all those around us. This means that we must be willing to stand firm in our faith, even when it is unpopular or goes against the prevailing cultural norms. So how can we cope in a culture that is celebrating sin? One way is to surround ourselves with like-minded believers who can offer support and encouragement. We can also turn to the Bible for guidance and wisdom, seeking out passages that speak to our current struggles and challenges. Ultimately, we must trust in God’s plan for our lives and have faith that He will guide us through even the darkest of times. By keeping our focus on Him and His will for our lives, we can navigate through this culture with grace and strength. The best thing you can do is to stay focused on your relationship with God. Don’t let the noise of the world drown out His voice. And always remember that you are not alone. There are other Christians out there who are fighting the good fight just like you. We need to remember that we are not alone. There are still many people who uphold Christian values and who are working to make a difference in the world. We also need to remember that God is in control, and that ultimately, good will triumph over evil. According to the Bible, our culture should not be the sole source of our identity. As stated in 1 Corinthians 15:33, we are encouraged to look beyond our cultural norms and values. Instead, we are to focus our attention on Jesus Christ, who is the author and perfecter of our faith, as mentioned in Hebrews 12:2. By doing so, we can experience a transformation in our lives, as our minds are renewed, as stated in Romans 12:2. As Christians, we are called to live in the world, but not to be of the world, as emphasized in John 17:14-16. This means that we should not conform to the patterns of this world, but rather, we should strive to live according to God’s will and purpose for our lives. As followers of Christ, it is important to remember that we are called to be in the world, but not of the world. This means that we should not isolate ourselves from society or ignore the issues that surround us. Rather, we should approach the world with a sense of discernment and wisdom, just as Jesus instructed his disciples in Matthew 10:16 when he said, “Be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. As we engage with the culture around us, we must do so with the Truth of the Gospel as our guide. This means that we should be intentional about sharing the message of salvation with those around us, while also living out our faith in a way that reflects the love and grace of Christ. Of course, this is not always an easy task. As true born-again believers, we will face opposition and persecution for our faith. However, we must remain steadfast in our convictions and trust in God’s promises. As Jesus warned his disciples in Mark 13:37, “And what I say to you, I say to all: Stay awake.” In other words, we must be vigilant and alert at all times, ready to stand firm in our faith and share the hope of the Gospel with a world in need. As believers, it is our sacred duty to always stand up for God and His Truth. We must never waver in our commitment to what is right and just, even in the face of adversity. It is true that we are called to be in the world, but we must always remember that we are not of the world. This means that we must strive to live our lives in accordance with God’s will. To not be swayed by the temptations and distractions of the world around us. Let us always be mindful of our duty to stand up for God and His Truth, and let us never falter in our commitment to doing what is right. The day of judgement, a day that will inevitably arrive for every human that has ever lived, is a momentous occasion that will determine the fate of all. It is a time when the deeds of each individual will be scrutinized and evaluated, and the ultimate decision will be made. The question that arises is whether one would prefer to stand with the world and be judged by God, or stand with God and be judged by the world. This is a decision that requires careful consideration, as the consequences of one’s actions will be weighed against the standards of the divine. It is a time when the true nature of each person will be revealed, and the verdict will be final.
