The first sign is not so much a sign you’re on the right path, but rather it is more of a disclaimer regarding suffering.
This is because unfortunately when people go through some sort of suffering in their lives, they automatically jump to the conclusion they are on the wrong path. However that is not necessarily true.
PAIN AND SUFFERING
People tend to believe that because they suffer in some form or fashion, they believe they are on the wrong path, or that they are doing something wrong.
But that’s not true. Being on the right path does not mean that you will not ever suffer. Being on the right and Godly path in life does not mean you will not ever go through deep pain and suffering.
Being on the right and Godly path in life does not mean you will not ever go through the deep waters of life. Being on the right and Godly path in life does not mean you will not ever go through the hottest fires of life.
Suffering is having what you do not want, and wanting what you do not have. One of the most important things to remember as Christians is God doesn’t promise smooth sailing, he does not promise that we will not ever suffer when we are born again.
But, He did promise to never leave us. Do not take suffering as a sign that you are on the wrong path, or that you are doing something wrong.
Rest assured in the fact if God is before you, then who can be against you. You can rest assured in the fact that God will never leave you or forsake you.
NOT CARING ABOUT PLEASING OTHERS OR THE WORLD
Your number one priority is pleasing God. One of the most evident and unmistakeable signs that you’re on the right path is that your primary aim in life is to please God, and not people.
If you find that you live your life in a way in which you are trying to please your friends, your colleagues, your family, or the world at large more than you want to please God, then you are not on the right path.
But, if pleasing God is your number one priority, you are indeed on the right path n your life. Paul the Apostle encourages us to seek God’s approval above all else.
Do not compromise on your faith, do not compromise on the word of God. Refuse to be a Christian that bends the word of God in order to be accepted by others.
Refuse to be a Christian that compromises on the word of God in order to be accepted by the world. Even when it means walking alone, even when it means being an outcast, we should focus on pleasing God in our journey of life. If pleasing God is your number one priority in life, then your life will change.
THE DESIRE TO PLEASE GOD
If your desire in life is to make God pleased with you, then you are living your life on the right path.
This is a wonderful indication that you are on the right and narrow path with God. Remember the word of our Lord and Savior, Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad s the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it”.
The way of life is narrow, lonely, and costly. This is the truth to follow Christ. The way is narrow and limited, and we can’t travel with our luggage, our sin and love for this world.
We can only carry our cross. However on the broad way, we can keep our baggage of sin and worldliness on the broad way we can keep our secret sins and unholy pleaseures.
Are you on a path that has required you to give up some unholy things in your life? Are you walking on a path that is allowing you to chase righteousness and holiness?
This path does not mean that you will be 100% perfect, for we know there is not a person who is 100% perfect. However if the direction of your life is heading towards Holiness, then you are on the right path.
It is very simple really, none of the things any of us acquire while on this earth can we take with us. All of it is meaningless. Money, worldly possessions, social standing, etc.
All of these things are meaningless. What ultimately matters is our souls, our relationship with God. I invite you to examine yourself and examine your life.
Are you living your life on the narrow and right path? Are you consumed with caring only for the worldly things in your life?
There isn’t much time left, it is obvious that Jesus’ return is soon coming, the evidence of this is happening everywhere all around us.
Accept Jesus Christ into your heart today. He loves us all so much, so love Him back with your everything. God Bless.
