“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away”.
Revelation 21:4
POEM – TRUST IN HIM
Mourning hearts will soon rejoice,
As God wipes tears from every eye,
No more sorrow and no more cries,
All pain will fade and forever die.
The former things will pass away,
The hurt, the fear, the loss and shame,
Hope will rise on a new dawn,
And blessings will come like rain.
Wipe your tears, dear troubled soul,
For God is on your side,
His love will make you whole,
And in His peace you’ll abide.
So trust in Him with all your might,
And let His grace be your guide,
For in His arms you’ll find delight,
And all your fears will subside.
DEVOTIONAL
In the midst of life’s challenges, grief, and pain, it can be difficult to envision a future where suffering ceases to exist. However, God’s word offers us a profound promise:
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
In this devotional, we will explore the depth and significance of this promise, finding comfort and hope for our present circumstances, as well as anticipation for an everlasting future without tears.
Tears accompany the human experience, as they represent the deep emotional responses to pain, loss, and sorrow. Whether shedding tears in grief, heartache, or even joy, our tears reveal the depths of our emotions.
Yet, when we consider the source of these tears, we find solace in knowing that God acknowledges our pain.
Throughout Scripture, we see examples of God’s empathy toward His people, sharing in their sorrows and drawing near to them.
God understands the weight of our tears, and in His perfect love, He promises to wipe them away completely.
Death is an inescapable part of the human existence—a consequence of sin. Our hearts ache as we experience the loss of loved ones, with the reality of our own mortality. But in the promise of no more death, God assures us of eternal life through Christ Jesus.
This truth gives us hope beyond us to face the present with confidence and courage. As for sorrow, it is closely intertwined with death, as it often accompanies the process of mourning.
However, in the heavens and new earth, sorrow will be replaced by boundless joy. We will no longer experience the pangs of grief or suffer from the wounds inflicted by death’s sting.
Crying and pain encompass a wide range of human experiences, both physically and emotionally. From the physical agony of illness to the emotional scars left by trauma, these afflictions bring immense suffering.
Yet, in God’s promise of a tearless eternity, we find relief. In heaven, there will be no more crying because every source of distress will have been eradicated.
Pain, whether physical or emotional, will cease to exist. Our bodies will be transformed, and our spirits will be restored, free from the limitations and frailties of this earthly life.
The former things that caused us pain will fade away, replaced by an eternal state of wholeness and peace.
The promise of God wiping away all tears provides immense comfort in the midst of our present trials. It reminds us that our suffering has an expiration date and encourages us to hold onto hope even when the tears flow freely.
Through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we can look forward to a future where death, sorrow, crying, and pain will be nonexistent.
Let us cling to this promise, allowing it to transform our perspective and give us strength to endure, knowing that our eternal destination holds indescribable joy, peace, and everlasting communion with our Heavenly Father.
