A.I. COULD PROVE TO BE MORE DANGEROUS THAN REALIZED

In late March, more than 1,000 technology leaders, researchers and other pundits working in and around artificial intelligence signed an open letter warning that A.I. technologies present “profound risks to society and humanity.”

The group, which included Elon Musk, Tesla’s chief executive and the owner of Twitter, urged A.I. labs to halt development of their most powerful systems for six months so that they could better understand the dangers behind the technology.

On May 16, the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Privacy, Technology, and the Law held a hearing to discuss regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms.

The committee’s chairman, Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), said that “artificial intelligence urgently needs rules and safeguards to address its immense promise and pitfalls.” During the hearing, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman stated, “If this technology goes wrong, it can go quite wrong.”

As the capabilities of AI algorithms have become more advanced, some voices in Silicon Valley and beyond have been warning of the hypothetical threat of “superhuman” AI that could destroy human civilization.

A.I. IS SUMMONING DEMONS

Elon Musk was quoted as saying, “With artificial intelligence we are summoning the demon. In all those stories where there’s the guy with the pentagram and the holy water, it’s like – yeah, he’s sure he can control the demon. Doesn’t work out.”

We should consider what it might mean if demons could speak through A.I. Demons can very well attach themselves to an object, it seems that demonic infestation of material things or places is, in fact, possible. The paths to artificial intelligence included astral science, natural philosophy, demons, and natural magic.

The late astrophysicist, Dr. Stephen Hawking warned that AI is “likely to be either the best or worst thing ever to happen to humanity, so there’s huge value in getting it right.”

Hawking is not alone in his concern about superintelligence. Icons of the tech revolution, including former Microsoft chairman Bill Gates, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, echo his concern. And it terrifies Eliezer Yudkowsky.

A divisive figure, Yudkowsky is well-known in academic circles and the Silicon Valley scene as the coiner of the term “friendly AI.” His thesis is simple, though his solution is not: if we are to have any hope against superintelligence, we need to code it properly from the beginning.

Humans are neither the fastest nor the strongest creatures on the planet but dominate for one reason: humans are the smartest. How might the balance of power shift if AI becomes superintelligence?

This means that if a user were to type in a command that is deemed inappropriate or insensitive, the chatbot will not provide a response.

The mark of the beast, as described in the book of Revelation, is often associated with A.I. and other advanced technologies.

Some believe that this mark will be implanted in humans, allowing them to buy and sell goods and services. Others speculate that the mark will be a symbol of allegiance to the Antichrist, and those who refuse to take it will be persecuted.

In light of these possibilities, it is important to remember the importance of prayer and repentance. As we face an uncertain future, we must turn to Jesus Christ for guidance and salvation. Only through faith in Him can we find hope and peace in the midst of a rapidly changing world.
