It is no secret that the media today is very sexualized. As a result, our children are being exposed to sexuality at younger and younger ages. Early sexualization can have detrimental effects on a child\’s development. In 2023, the sexualization of children in the media and in society in general has reached an all time high.

The media continues to inundate kids with images and messages that are sexual in nature, and our culture continues to promote an overly sexualized view of sexuality. The statistics show that most kids have watched pornography by the age of 11. I can\’t imagine how hard it must be for children in this present society.

Our world has chosen to take God out of everything. Madeline O\’Hare first started this when she made it her mission to have God taken out of public schools. It has all continued to go down hill since. If you have Christian values, you are now looked at as the bad guy, and as racist, and/or homo-phobic.

Only by turning to God and making Him the foundation of our families can we hope to protect our children from the sexualization of our culture. Only God can give us the wisdom and strength to fight against these problems. The Bible tells us that we are to train up our children in the way they should go; and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)

This means parents should be intentional about teaching our kids the Word of God, not the world. The world will always try to lure our children away from God, but it is our job to instill in them a love for the Lord and His Word. One way to do this is by setting aside time each day to read the Bible together as a family.

Praying with our children, helping them to understand the power of prayer. By teaching our kids the Word of God, we can help them to grow into faithful servants of the Lord. It has been said that the two most important days in a person\’s life are the day we are born, and the day we figure out why we are alive.

Once we understand the Purpose of Life, only then can we begin to truly live! The world will teach our kids how to make a living, the world will teach our kids how to be successful, but it is up to us to teach them to be Significant. The world will teach our children to climb the ladder of success, but we must teach them to first build the foundation of character.
